2004 The Colonial Estate Evangeliste Reserve Chardonnay

Very deep golden straw colour with green tinge and gold hue. Showing oxidative handling. The nose displays aroma of honey, biscuit and honeycomb with just a touch of hazelnut. The palate is disappointing, lacking depth and length. Dry citrus flavours are dominant, with acidity persisting.
Cellar 1-2 years (2008-2009)
Alc/Vol: 13%

Other Reviews... I tasted three Chardonnays, including the excellent 2004 Evangeliste Chardonnay Reserve, which does not see any malolactic fermentation, but is aged in 50-70% wood. It is an attractive, medium-bodied, solidly made effort. It should be consumed during its first 2-3 years of life.
