2004 Rouge Homme Cabernet Merlot
Deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Medium body. Aroma of cigar box, cedar and spice with the Cabernet being dominant, and just a whiff of tea leaf as an end note. The palate flavours are light with cedar and cigar box emerging over a smoky oak background with again a touch of tea leaf. Soft tannins. Aftertaste of cedar, cigar box and mocha.

First tasted, March 2006:
This wine fails to excite. Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue. The nose reveals a hint of tea leaf followed by blackcurrant, cassis and cedar. The palate is the let down with tea leaf being very dominant over a blackcurrant back palate. Fine grained, dryish tannins. Aftertaste of tea leaf and cedar.
