2004 Jim Barry The Benbournie Cabernet Sauvignon

Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. The nose is at the riper end of the spectrum with aromas of cassis, dark plum and cedar followed by a touch of dark chocolate mint and some spice. The palate is very rich and concentrated with the super ripe fruit supported by a solid firm tannin structure. Mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackcurrant, cassis, liquorice and chocolate mint supported by some underlying cedar. Spicy back palate. Excellent depth with long ripe blackcurrant, liquorice, cedar and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years (2016-2017).
