Excellent length & depth with an emphasis on the secondary flavour profile...

The Heggies Vineyard is a tough place to grow grapes with winemakers describing the Eden Valley as being "unpredictable and at times down right frustrating. " Each grape variety grown at the Heggies vineyard requires its own management regime, largely due to the very lean and very hungry soil. Nevertheless, the 2004 vintage has produced an outstanding example of Chardonnay from new Dijon clones grown on several micro-climates in the Heggies Vineyard. Bright straw colour with green tinge. The nose delivers complexity, with notes of nougat, honey, hazelnut, yeast lees and cashew emerging. Creamy palate texture – flavours of honeycomb, yeast lees and biscuit emerge. The wine has excellent weight and depth, with an emphasis on the secondary flavour profile. Very long aftertaste of hazelnut, yeast lees and cashew.
