Cellar: 2 - 3 Years (2007-2008)
ABV: 14.5%

Made from a blend of 70% Dolcetto and 30% Lagrein. The Dolcetto component was crushed and macerated for 4 days prior to yeast addition. A warm ferment (28 degrees) with 4 times daily hand-plunging. The wine was left on skins for 10 days before pressing.
Approximately 50% of the Dolcetto was transferred to French oak hogsheads for completion of ferment, the remainder was unoaked. The Lagrein was fermented at cooler temperatures (18-22 degrees) to preserve aromatics and limit bitter tannin extraction. The wine was transferred to 4 year old French oak for 9 months maturation prior to blending.
Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose displays impressive lift – perfumed notes of liquorice, spice and violets. The palate is filled with ripe fruit flavours. Excellent weight with generous full bodied mouthfeel. Flavours of liquorice and raspberry, followed by ripe blackberry. Aftertaste of liquorice, cherry and raspberry.
Cellar 2-3 years (2007-2008)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%

Other Reviews...
Rich, lusciously sweet and ripe red cherry and a wrapping of chocolate - cherry ripe indeed.  Soft tannins and minimal oak.
