2004 Dutschke Oscar Semmler Single Vineyard Reserve Shiraz
Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Superb lifted nose of violets, liquorice and spice followed by a perfumed blackberry end note.
Mouthfilling palate. Flavours of mocha, vanilla and blackberry, generous full bodied structure, with confectionary back palate flavours. Fine grained tannin. Long aftertaste of toasted oak, mocha, liquorice and blackberry.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
Alc/Vol: 15%
Other Reviews…
The single vineyard Reserve, the 2004 Shiraz Oscar Semmler, was aged in new and one year old French oak for 22 months prior to bottling. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by sumptuous aromas of graphite, blueberries, creme de cassis, liquorice, and white pepper. With fabulous fruit, good balance, ripe tannin, and a full-bodied, long finish, this beauty can be drunk now or cellared for a decade.
