Armagnac, FRANCE
$155. 00
Bottle
$1860.00 Dozen
ABV: 49.7%
Distilled in 2004, the fruit for this Armagnac was sourced from 40 year old vines in Bas Armagnac from the Domaine Couzard Lasalle. 100% Folle Blanche, the region consists of sables & sandy clays with the resulting brandies said to evoke eaux de vie from ‘pre-phylloxera' times.

Tasting note: Deep polished brass. Relatively lean on the nose opening with split pine, pencil shavings and trace white pepper. Five minutes air contact draws out sweeter dried fruit notes; fresh dates? Fruit tart? Later caramel fudge and vanilla. A youthful, vibrant Armagnac with early cedary oak flooded by a rush of plush fruits. Vanilla, prunes and raisins compete with black pepper and spicy oak through the aftertaste. Brawny and lively with the fruit and wood in harmonious tension. 49.7% Alc./Vol. Non diluted.
