A classy red – and let us say an impressive first release. Medium body. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose, with lifted notes of violets, black cherry, spice and tobacco evident. The palate is quite French in its tannin structure – being fine and dry, yet perfectly balanced. The primary fruit flavours are foregone to some extent with the emphasis heading towards secondary flavours. Cedar, tobacco, spice, cherry and stewed fruit are evident. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and spice.
