Penfolds winemaker Robin Moody has produced an excellent red. Very deep bright crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Top note of vanilla followed by spice and confectionary delivering a perfumed sniff, followed by an end note of ripe plum. On the palate flavours of ripe plum, liquorice and black pepper. Fine grained slightly chalky tannins, with an aftertaste of spice, vanilla, liquorice allsorts and plum.
