2003 Simon Gilbert Cabernet Merlot

Brick red colour with brick red hue.  Medium body.  Aroma of stewed fruit and spice followed by a hint of cassis.  The palate flavour profile is light, with stewed fruit flavours evident and running through into the aftertaste.  Dry tannins.  A commercial quaffer.

First tasted, February 2005:
Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue. The wine is delicately perfumed. Aroma of blackcurrant, mulberry and spice. The palate is on the light side. Flavours of stewed fruit, spice and confectionary. Fine dry chalky tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruits and spice.
