2003 Grant Burge Balthasar Shiraz Viognier

Very deep crimson mauve colour with deep crimson mauve hue. Perfumed top note of violets and apricot followed by a hint of spice and liquorice, plus stewed fruit. On the palate flavours of plum and stewed fruit are dominant followed by liquorice and spice back palate. The tannins are quite dry and persistent. The palate lacks the depth and length expected from this blend. Aftertaste of spice and plum.
