2003 Grancari Estate Grenache Shiraz

Very deep crimson mauve purple colour with mauve purple hue. Pronounced nose, with aroma of raspberry, spice and blackberry. The palate shows excellent concentration, with mouthfilling flavours of spice, liquorice, raspberry and blackberry. A big ‘joosy’ palate sensation. Warm back palate, with white and blackpepper flavours. Soft tannins. Strong aftertaste of blackpepper and blackberry. In spite of the wines massive 17% alcohol content there is no sensation of the wine being porty or jammy – in fact we have been told by the proprietors that there has been no acid adjustment and that pH and TA is near perfect.
