2003 Cobaw Ridge Shiraz Viognier
Opaque black purple colour with deep purple crimson hue. Perfumed nose with top notes of apricot followed by blackberry and spice. The palate remains tightly knit with flavours of mocha and toasted oak over a background of blackberry, liquorice and cherry. Excellent balance, fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of cherry, mocha and liquorice.

First tasted, April 2005:
Totally black purple colour with black purple hue. Superb, lifted nose. Perfumed. Notes of violets, spice, blackberry and vanilla abound. The palate structure is tighter than the nose suggests, displaying quite high acidity. Flavours of blackberry, spice and unripe cherry emerge – elegant in style. Fine grained tannins, with long aftertaste of sour cherry, blackberry and white pepper.
