2002 Tyrrell's Rufus Stone Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec

An excellent example of Cabernet, clearly demonstrating the fact that McLaren Vale is capable of producing refined Cabernet wines. Very deep crimson black colour, with deep crimson hue. The nose is impressive with perfumed lift, displaying notes of blackcurrant, liquorice and spice. The palate is mouthfilling with flavours of dark chocolate, blackcurrant and spice followed by a plum filled back palate. The structure is refined, and reminiscent of a Bordeaux from a very good year. Perfectly balanced with fine grained tannins with a long aftertaste of blackcurrant and truffles.
