A very well made aromatic dry red. Deep, translucent, purple mauve colour with purple mauve hue. Medium body. The wine is lifted, which is hardly a surprise given the blend, top note of raspberry jube, liquorice, freshly crushed blackberries and inky cherry. The inky character persists through the palate with raspberry flavours dominant, followed by white pepper and liquorice back palate. Fine grained soft tannins. Aftertaste of inky cherries, spice and white pepper.
