Opaque very dark red black colour with a dark brick red hue. Sniffing gives up elevated aromatics of earthy blackcurrant and traces of mint over cigar box, light old leather and spice. Medium bodied the palate still retains good richness with blackcurrant, liquorice and mint flavours married to earthy old scorched cedar, leather and spice. Dry finish with slightly chalky but otherwise very refined tannins. Aftertaste of scorched earth, blackcurrant, notions of mint, old cedar, leather and spice.
