2002 Magpie Estate The Schnell Grenache Shiraz

An outstanding big red with the Shiraz component remaining dominant throughout the wine. Opaque black purple crimson colour. The nose reveals plenty of spicy liquorice character, followed by notes of ripe plum and blackberry. The palate is most impressive, with its explosive blackpepper, plum and spice flavour, followed by a very strong liquorice and spice background. The palate has plenty of body weight with very long aftertaste (that lingers for minutes) of liquorice, plum and blackpepper.
