The first wines were produced at Koonowla in the late 1800’s. Wine maker Andrew Hardy has produced a very deep crimson coloured wine with deep crimson brick red hue. Aroma of spice followed by a hint of tea leaf, blackcurrant and cedar. Flavours of stewed fruit and plum are evident on the palate with a hint of chocolate. Fine dry, slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruit and spice.
