Katnook Estate are one of Coonawarra’s leading producers and consistently produce one of the districts best examples of Coonawarra Cabernet – the 2002 vintage is no exception. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon the wine was matured for approximately 24 months in predominantly French oak barrels, of which 45% were new. A small proportion was American oak.

Opaque brick red colour with brick red hue, showing bottle development. The nose displays complexity, with notes of cedar, cigar box, blackcurrant and mocha emerging. The palate delivers layers of flavour – cedar, spice, plum and liquorice emerge. Mouthfilling – there is a touch of leather on the back palate followed by blackcurrant and a very spicy sensation that runs over the cedar, cigar box and mocha flavours on the aftertaste. An impressive Coonawarra Cabernet.
