This wine is much more tightly knit than the 2001 release and needs time to evolve. Opaque black crimson colour with deep black crimson hue. The Cabernet fruit exerts itself both on the nose and palate. The nose reveals notes of violets, but is restrained, followed by blackcurrant, cedar, mint and just a hint of leaf. The palate has weight and length with firmish dry tannins over a layer of blackcurrant, cedar, mint and spice. This wine needs time.
