This Merlot has spent 30 months in Allier Oak. Very deep brick red colour – almost opaque with very deep brick red hue – the wine is beginning to show its age. Superb lifted nose of cedar and spice followed by old leather and freshly brewed tea. Mouthfilling palate, spicy with nuances of cocoa, cedar and leather, supported by fine dry tannins. The wine is near its peak. Aftertaste of leather, cocoa, fresh tea and spice.
