2002 Dominique Portet Fontaine Cabernet Shiraz Merlot

Crimson brick red colour with crimson hue. Medium body. The nose is perfumed displaying a distinctive perfumed lift with aromas of violets, blackcurrant, mulberry and spice showing impressive Cabernet notes. The palate is simpler than the nose suggests. Flavours of stewed fruit are merged with blackcurrant and cedar. Drier than other Australian wines of a similar blend, indicative of Dominique Portet’s French background. Fine grained, dry tannins. Aftertaste of cedar with a touch of liquorice emerging.
