2002 Dal Zotto Estate Barbera

The King Valley has become the epicentre of Italian varieties grown in Australia. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Medium body. The nose reveals nuances of truffle, plum, stewed fruit and spice followed by a leather endnote. The palate comes as a bit of a surprise due to the fact that the wine shows no aggressive Italian tannin structure. The components are balanced perfectly, with flavours of liquorice, black cherry, spice and truffle emerging. Very fine tannins. An excellent example of a ‘naturalized’ Italian varietal.
