2002 Connor Park Durif

Sourced from Lake Marmal in Central Victoria and matured for 12 months in American oak. Spectacular black purple colour which clings to the glass like opalescent paint. Aroma of spice, vanilla, dark chocolate, ripe black cherries and cherry ripe. The palate has a concentrate of liquorice and black cherries – it’s big but without great length or complexity. In spite of its bulky style, the sheer joosiness is to be admired, with flavours of dark chocolate, black cherry and blackberry. The tannins are very soft, unlike the Rutherglen Durif styles. Warm spicy back palate. Liquorice, black cherry aftertaste.
