Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson mauve hue. The nose is holding up with strong varietal character evident. Top note of mulberry followed by truffle, confectionary and spice. The palate is drier than the nose suggests. Nuances of leather and tea leaf are followed by dry chalky tannins which overwhelms the palate. Aftertaste of spice and stewed fruit.
