2001 Wilson Vineyard Zinfandel (375ml)

This is a delightful dessert wine made from very ripe Zinfandel grapes that have been picked well into May. The wine was fermented until the yeast could go no further. The wine has been blended mainly from 2001 vintage grapes, but also contains a portion of several other vintages, making it in effect a non vintage wine.

Deep crimson colour with crimson hue. Aroma of spice, very ripe black ‘waltram cross table grapes’, raisins and ripe plum. Rich luscious palate, with flavours of spice and very ripe black table grapes and just a hint of blackpepper in the background. Clean acid finish, followed by aftertaste of sweet plums, comquot and raisins.
