2001 Scotchmans Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Growing Cabernet Sauvignon in a cool climate is a borderline activity, with flavour development being a major casualty. Brick red colour with a brick red hue. Medium body. Aroma of stewed fruit, followed by a hint of tea leaf, leather and truffle. The palate flavours are subdued, with spice and earth flavours emerging followed by some leafy overtones. The tannins are dry, aftertaste of stewed fruit, spice and coffee.
