2001 Re Salento La Corte

This Italian wine has been made by Australian winemaker Chris Ringland from 35-50 year old Primitiro vines and 60 year old Surani, Torre, Monache and Negroamaro. Medium body, brick red colour with brick red hue. Top note of liquorice, truffle, a hint of leather and confectionary. On the palate flavours of stewed fruit, leather, cedar and spice. Fine but quite dry tannins, slightly chalky. Aftertaste of confectionary, with hints of dried raisins.
