One of the best examples of Pikes Shiraz to be released in recent years. Opaque crimson colour with black heart and deep crimson hue. The nose displays aroma of ripe plum and spice, followed by stewed fruit and liquorice with a hint of confectionary and vanilla. The palate is big, with flavours of mocca, liquorice, spice, white pepper and plum. Excellent length and depth. Fine grained quite dry tannins, but balanced, followed by a long white pepper aftertaste.
