2001 Mount Trio Unwooded Chardonnay

Fantastic nose! Brilliant straw colour. Distinct lifted nose, with aroma of melon, peach, tropical fruit and a hint of grassiness. Mouthfilling palate, with just a hint of nut and yeast lees, followed by tropical fruit, melon and peach. Creamy texture, crisp acid finish, followed by lees and melon aftertaste.

A well made wine, showing good varietal character. Bright pale gold colour. The nose is lifted, with aroma of mango, paw paw, ripe melon and tropical fruit, displaying notes of ripe fruit. The palate has good weight with just a touch of aniseed, over a layer of peach and tropical fruit. The palate is a little shorter than the nose indicates. Clean finish, followed by a tropical fruit aftertaste.
Cellar 2-3 years (2004-2005).
