2001 Mount Cathedral Vineyards Cabernet Merlot

Deep crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. Aroma of blackcurrant and spice with just a hint of liquorice emerging. The palate is quite dry and the flavours subtle, spice, blackcurrant and cedar flavours emerge. Moderate length. Soft balanced tannins followed by an aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and liquorice.

This wine shows great promise. Opaque crimson mauve purple colour. Superb perfume of violets, blackcurrant, with a hint of liquorice allsorts. The palate structure is impressive, with distinct blackcurrant, spice and liquorice flavours. Perfect balance, velvet smooth tannins, followed by a very long aftertaste of spice, blackcurrant and liquorice.
