A very dry highly tannic wine that would be better as a component in a ‘Bordeaux style’ blend rather than a varietal. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Appealing nose with aroma of confectionary, spice and violets – edging on being perfumed. Medium body, with the tannin structure being quite dominant and overpowering the fruit. Flavours of stewed plum and spice emerge – followed by very dry, persistent tannins.
