2001 Lamonts Chardonnay

A classic full bodied chardonnay, filled with an abundance of ripe fruit flavours. Bright straw colour. The nose is a delight. The ripe fruit flavours are superbly counter pointed by barrel ferment aromas of butterscotch, spicy oak and yeast lees. The palate is filled with superb, ripe fruit, which is present with a degree of clarity not found from other warm regions. Flavours of melon, peach and fig are interwoven over a butterscotch and tropical fruit background. Clean acid finish followed by very long aftertaste of spice, melon, fig and tropical fruit.
