The wine is deep crimson colour with crimson mauve hue, yet remains quite translucent. The nose is impressive with aroma of toasted oak, dark cherry and spice followed by a hint of stalk. The palate has good weight and mouthfeel with flavours of cherry, toasted oak and spice evident followed by an overlay of California Poppy. Fine dry tannins which are persistent but well balanced. Long aftertaste of cherry and strawberry.
