2001 Ferngrove The Stirlings

A magnificent red, made from a blend of 46% Merlot , 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Malbec. Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson black hue. Aroma of liquorice, confectionary, blackcurrant and mocha, followed by a violet endnote. The palate is impressive with superb fruit and layers of violet infusions, liquorice, mocha, blackcurrant, mulberry and cedar. Fine grained tannins, with excellent balance. Very long aftertaste of spice, cedar and blackcurrant.
