2001 d'Arenberg High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon

A tight knit Cabernet that is well worth cellaring and what’s more at a very affordable price. Very deep crimson black colour with deep crimson hue. Superb Cabernet nose of violets, liquorice allsorts and blackcurrant followed by a faint hint of leaf, which contributes a complexing note rather than a distraction. The palate displays pronounced flavours of blackcurrant, toasted oak and liquorice over a spicy back palate. Firmish tannin backbone, typical of Cabernet, still tight but will balance fully to support the generous fruit flavours.
