Cape Mentelle Semillon Sauvignon Blanc’s are consistently very good. Brilliant pale straw colour. The nose has a grassy, herbaceous top note which is carried through onto the back palate flavour, with the tropical fruit flavour components to the fore. The palate is a touch less intense than the previous vintage, but, that’s not a bad thing as the wine could therefore be suited to a wider range of food styles. Clean acid finish, followed by long herbaceous, tropical fruit aftertaste. Cellar 1 – 2 years.
