2001 Brookland Valley Verse 1 Cabernet Merlot

Opaque black crimson colour, with black purple hue. The Cabernet delivers a blackcurrant top note over a background of spice, truffle and mulberry followed by an acceptable hint of stalk. The palate displays plenty of weight and depth, with blackcurrant, liquorice flavours dominant, followed by a touch of stewed fruit. Fine dry tannins followed by a long aftertaste of spice and blackcurrant.
Cellar 3-4 years (2005-2006).
