2001 Barossa Ridge Valley of Vines Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Petit Verdot
Very deep brick red colour with deep brick red hue showing signs of bottle age. Aroma of leather, cedar, spice, truffle and earth. The palate is beginning to dry out with flavours of stewed fruit, old leather and earth emerging over a slightly prune filled back palate. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of earth, leather, cedar and stewed fruit.

First tasted, August 2003:
Very deep crimson brick red colour. Aroma of dark chocolate, spice and confectionary followed by a hint of cedar and blackcurrant. The palate flavours are impressive with flavours of confectionary, chocolate and spice overlaying blackcurrant, liquorice and tea leaf. Fine grained tannins, very good length followed by an aftertaste of confectionary, spice, blackcurrant and chocolate with a trace of tea leaf re-emerging.
