2000 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Caol Ila 20 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

There are probably hundreds of young Caol Ilas bought to market each year, predominantly by the indies. Ten years or younger is not unusual. Older expressions are much less common. This one from G&M was matured in a first fill Sherry Butt (#309563) with an outturn of 612 bottles. 59.6% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Aromas of CURED MEATS combine with RED APPLE and SULTANAS. Subtle SPICES of CINNAMON and CLOVE are followed by a light SEA AIR note. Taste: Smooth and SMOKY with RED APPLE alongside zesty ORANGE and spicy BLACK PEPPER. Finish: A long and SMOKY finish with ASHY undertones.
