A well made, early drinking Merlot which has been matured for 17 months in French oak. Medium body crimson colour with mauve edges. Excellent nose, perfumed, with aroma of violets, confectionery, mulberry and spice. The palate is not as voluptuous as one comes to expect from the Barossa, but none the less the wine delivers an impressive depth of flavour. Liquorice, mulberry, spice and blackcurrant flavours are supported by fine grained tannins. Stewed fruit, plum and mulberry aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
