Wayne Thomas has produced a series of very consistent full bodied reds, yet does not seem to enjoy a high consumer profile - we'll see if we can change that! Almost opaque, deep crimson colour. Aroma of spice, coconut, vanilla, confectionery and chocolate. The palate shows excellent weight and depth of flavours - a factor missing is many of the 1999 reds. Inky blackpepper palate flavour with an abundant amount of ripe plum and liquorice flavour. Fine grained, dry, lingering tannins, followed by a long inky blackberry aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years.
