An outstanding example of barrel fermented Chardonnay. Brilliant straw colour. The nose displays complexity, with layers of butterscotch, biscuit, yeast lees, hazelnut and almonds. Mouthfilling palate with citrus flavours emerging over yeast lees, hazelnut and dry flor yeast over a smokey almond background. This wine is drier that other Australian examples of wooded Chardonnay, and reminiscent of a top white Burgundy from a ripe year. Outstanding length and depth with very long aftertaste of biscuit, hazelnut and almonds. Cellar 3-4 years.
