The 1999 Tyrrell’s McLaren Vale Rufus Stone has very good fruit flavour but lacks some of the power and concentration of previous vintages, none the less, it is an impressive wine.Opaque purple mauve colour, with a black centre. The nose is lifted, with an aroma of spice, earth, ripe plums and liquorice allsorts, followed by a marzipan end note. On the palate there are strong flavours of plums, stewed fruits and spice. Fine grained dry, lingering tannins. Cellar 4-5 years.
