1999 Shaw & Smith Unoaked Chardonnay

Made from young vines. Bright pale straw colour. Lifted nose with some surprising grassy notes (reminiscent of young Sauvignon Blanc), followed by dominant tropical fruit and fig aromas. The palate displays good weight with fig melon flavours to the forefront. Straightforward, fruit driven style, slightly coarse on the back palate, followed by tropical fruit and spice aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
