1999 Ross Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Merlot

Another very impressive wine from Ross Estate - made from a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, matured for 12 months in French and American oak. Outstanding, opaque colour - filled with crimson purple hues. Bordeaux like nose, with complex aromas of vanilla, spice, confectionery, blackcurrant and cedar, followed by a cinnamon end note. The palate displays impressive ripe fruit flavours dominated by plum, blackcurrant and spice which are carried through onto a long aftertaste. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Cellar 5-8 years.
