Very deep crimson colour with black heart and deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose of ripe plum, dark chocolate, cedar and mocca. The palate displays elegance, but does not have the power or concentration of the 1998 Empyrean. Flavours of spice, blackcurrant and cedar are followed by a hint of truffle. There is a hint of tea leaf emerging. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance followed by a very long aftertaste of spice and blackcurrant.
