The 1999 Penfolds Bin 407 has spend 12 months in French and American oak hogsheads. Very deep crimson colour, with deep crimson edges. Aroma of cedar, spice and blackcurrant over a layer of tobacco and charry oak. The palate is relatively light, but displays flavours of blackcurrant, liquorice and spice which is followed by fine grained dryish tannins. Very good length with aftertaste of plum, spice and blackcurrant. Cellar 3 – 4 years. (2004 – 2005)
