A big Durif, but not as monstrous as the 1998. Very deep crimson colour, with black heart. The nose displays aroma of dark chocolate, plum and spice, followed by vanilla and confectionary end note. The palate flavours are generous, with stewed fruit being dominant, followed by the flavour of very ripe plum and spice. Fine, dry firmish tannins, followed by layers of liquorice, very ripe plum, dark chocolate and spice.
