1999 Middlebrook Estate Shiraz

The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Pikkara vineyard in McLaren Vale which was cropped at around 4-5 tonnes per acre. Very deep crimson colour, with mauve edge. The nose reveals some heavy toasted oak aroma over a background of liquorice, plum and spice. On the palate the flavours of plum and stewed fruits are reinforced by toasted oak, followed by an earthy end note. Fine grained firm tannins with aftertaste of spice, pepper and stewed fruit.
